The Breakers 2018 home slate kicks off July 15 and features seven home matches with visits from all World TeamTennis franchises.
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF. (March 8, 2018) – The Orange County Breakers have released their 2018 schedule for the 43rd season of World TeamTennis presented by GEICO. The Breakers will begin their title defense at home on Sunday, July 15, against the Philadelphia Freedoms.
“We are very pleased that we get to start the 2018 season at home,” said Breakers General Manager Allen Hardison. “It is very important to us that we get to reveal our 2017 championship banner and give our players their championship rings in front of our fans on opening day.”
After the opening day championship celebration, the Breakers host the Springfield Lasers on July 16 before hitting the road. The Breakers first road trip of 2018 starts on July 18 against the Washington Kastles and heads North on July 19 for a tilt with Philadelphia. The road trip concludes in Springfield on July 20 when the Breakers take on the Lasers.
The Breakers return home on Sunday, July 22 for a clash with the San Diego Aviators. The rivalry continues the following day on July 23 in San Diego before the Breakers head East again.
The Breakers finish the season series against the Freedoms in Philadelphia on July 25 before playing the New York Empire at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on July 26. The season long four-match road trip concludes in San Diego on July 28.
New York comes to Breakers Stadium on Sunday, July 29 before the Breakers finish the 2018 regular season with three straight home matches from July 31 through August 2 against San Diego, Springfield and Washington.

The Breakers previously announced the return of 2017 Female MVP Andreja Klepac and 2017 Female Rookie of the Year Yanina Wickmayer for the upcoming season. The team will select additional players at the WTT Draft on Tuesday, March 13. Fans can watch the Draft live at 9:00am PT at WTT.com.
