Jennifer Brady Joins Breakers for 2020 Season
Former UCLA standout Jennifer Brady, who has 2020 wins over top players Barty, Svitolina, Sharapova and Muguruza, has signed a full season contract with the Orange County Breakers
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF. (June 18, 2020) – The Orange County Breakers have announced that former UCLA standout and World No. 48 singles player Jennifer Brady has signed a full season contract with the team for the upcoming World TeamTennis season.
Brady has had a standout 2020 with top wins over World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty, Elina Svitolina, Maria Sharapova and Garbine Muguruza. She hit a career high singles ranking of World No. 45 in February 2020 and holds a career high doubles ranking of World No. 44 in 2019.
“We are really excited to add a player of the caliber of Jennifer Brady so close to the start of the season,” said Breakers general manager Allen Hardison. “Jennifer has a game that will fit the WTT format really well and her experience playing in a team format in college will be a big asset. We feel real good about where our team is right now.”
Brady and the Breakers kick off the 2020 World TeamTennis season on July 12 against the San Diego Aviators at The Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. The Breakers will play 14 regular season matches from July 12 through July 30 and the WTT playoffs begin August 1.
